Touch lamp

You can turn almost any lamp into a touch lamp. All you need is a lamp with a metal base or pole and a touch lamp control switch. You can actually turn any regular lamp into a touch lamp, meaning that you can turn any lamp on and off by touching any part of the touch lamp.

When you have a touch lamp, you no longer need to worry about fumbling in the dark for the tiny switch or knob to turn on the light: you merely need to touch the lamp. Of course, the amazing thing is that it is your human touch that turns on a touch lamp. In other words, if your cat or dog or a book, etc. touches the lamp, it will not turn on. It only turns on because of capacitance which is the ability of your body to store electrical charge.
